On the evening of June 5, 1989 a deputation of The Singular Society of the Baker Street Dozen were invited to a special opening of the local bookstore Mad For A Mystery. Then 22 year old member Charles Prepolec's own venture into the bookselling world. A fantastic performance of close-up magic was performed by member Stephen Forrester, decked out in a vintage tuxedo. After the performance, members were able to browse the shelves while enjoying wine and munchies. Local news coverage was provided by the Calgary Herald. Mad For A Mystery closed its doors for the last time in 1994, after moving locations twice and undergoing a name change to Monkey's Paw Books. |
